Namely: If you stay in bed for an much needed extra hour of sleep in the morning, the summit conditions will clear just as you approach, rather than an hour after you turned back due to poor visibility
Also, the price of skis, boots and related paraphernalia is astronomical. I paid a visit to Mountain Spirit in Aviemore. It seems if I’m ever to buy a pair of skis and boots, it will be a used pair…

nice…
and i seem to remember being horrified by the prices in that shop.
I met a girl going up on skis as I came down, which prompted the visit. I was planning to kill some time before driving home, but I didn’t hang about once I was the £600 boots. I reckon she would have got to the summit just as it cleared up.
Fascinating!
Amazing photo!!
Thanks!
Ach, that’s part of the reason you keep going back out there.
I’m not saying it’s not annoying, mind you.
True. I was glad to be out nonetheless.
Aye just when you think snowshoes are the thing then you think mmm ski’s and another money pit opens !
Its all about getting out and thats what you did !
That’s true, it was a bit of a long drive for a day trip though. I had to get back for some xmas shopping on the Sunday. What were you saying about money pits?
so beautiful!!
